VAGUELY BRAND “PLAGIARISING” OCEAN EDU

Specifically, at the end of June 2020, we received a picture of the signpost introducing an English center with an identical brand image of Ocean Edu in Ngoc Hoi - Thanh Tri - Hanoi. After looking up information, we have found out that this brand belongs to a limited company based in Quang Binh province that officially came into operation in July 2019. This unit’s operation plagiarises the identity system of Ocean Edu International English System long with some vaguely advertising methods, lead to "misunderstanding" for parents and students. This activity is considered illegal, directly affecting consumers and the reputation of Ocean Edu Vietnam.

Sharing about this incident, a representative of Ocean Edu said: “Over nearly 14 years of establishment and development, Ocean Edu has encountered a number of similar situations. In 2017, a "knockoff" center of Ocean Edu, located at Hoang Quoc Viet (Hanoi), had to stop operating after authorities discovered the incident and the press "uncovered" the fraudulent activity. We would like to firstly alert parents and students across the system about some units having indistinguishable names and images from Ocean Edu as well as affirm that all business activities of the above legal entity/individual are not under the management and responsibility of Ocean Edu Vietnam. If this unit continues to intentionally abuse the reputation of Ocean Edu to advertise, deceive consumers to profit, we will take the next steps”.
