Like all other languages, English vocabulary is wide and extensive. Such a large amount of new words requiring learners to spend a lot of time studying and being able to use them. Each root word can develop into a new word form, add prefixes and suffixes to form another word. That is the reason wherefore we have to hone in on learning English words.
Even for veteran English learners or beginners especially with children, memorizing a large number of vocabularies is not simple. In many cases, children can not keep count of all English vocabulary or can only memorize for a short time and then forget. Besides, students also encounter other difficulties such as not knowing how to use or a word having plenty of meanings, etc.
However, in fact, there are some basic words that are easy to remember, or you encounter them many times, whereby it is easy for you to keep them in mind. Therefore, sometimes it is your approach to learn vocabulary that makes things more difficult.
In order to help children memorize English vocabulary better, we should apply various modern English learning methodologies such as T.P.R (Total physical response), Task-based, Audiolingual method, Kinaesthetic learning, etc. It is said that our brain works better with images and sounds than information on paper. Besides, the activities that children participate in the class also help them a lot in remembering new words.
Therefore, with that point of view, Ocean Edu’s teachers regularly deploy a variety of learning activities through games (gamification). This not only helps children acquire knowledge faster but also encourage their teamwork and cohesion.
