1. Is learning English online not important?
When we asked students: “What is your view on online learning?”, lots of people consider that it is not essential to them. According to them, online learning is just a way of compensating knowledge - a kind of extra, optional activity or its functions are not as good as offline learning at the centre. In fact, online training always brings a lot of advantages, learning information is diverse, useful and continuously updated. When you decide to learn English online, you have to be intensive and determined, define a clear learning goal, your learning result will significantly go up after 3-6 months.
Tips: When you choose to learn English online, you must be serious and purposeful. Explicitly set out learning goal and practice specifically for each skill (listening, speaking, reading, writing); concentrate on carrying through the skills you are weakest at.
2. Can I study at any time?
This is no longer eccentric psychology and almost students have the same opinion. “Learning is not mandatory, learning is life”. The subjectivity along with the thought of learning and playing have made students’ knowledge go nowhere unconsciously, even though they have been studying online for an entire year. Therefore, they have lost lots of promotion opportunities in career and life.
Tips: Regularly study at least 3 hours per week. Create a habit of learning and practising anytime, anywhere. Remember “There is no time like the present”!
3. No need to learn vocabulary?
Learning vocabulary is indispensable. The primary reason is that most learners do believe that vocabulary is the key to success, knowing plenty of words means fluent in English. Thus, some students’ goal is to enhance their lexical resource. However, if you solely learn vocabulary without applying in a specific context, the result might not be as expected.
Tips: Learn vocabulary in relevant vocabulary/grammar structures. Practice regularly in conversations, written texts, reports…
4. Don't want to be evaluated?
Various students tend not to take exams or refuse to receive assessment reports from teachers. Some even choose to suspend from studying or skip most exams.
Tips: Complete all requirements on exercises, tests, exams…Proactively adjust your study plan if necessary.
